As this muscle shortens, the muscles at the corners of your eyes tend to tighten and become baggy, leading to frown lines. How to Get Rid of Wrinkles around Your Eyes

A typical basic yoga sequence builds your mobility and flexibility and strengthens your abdominal muscles. It also improves your posture and corrects your posture by stretching the neck, shoulders, and back muscles. After all, your whole body works together to get rid of wrinkles around your eyes.

This sequence of 12 poses that make up the Yoga Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) will strengthen your facial muscles, and along with the other exercises in this series, will increase your awareness and self-awareness, so you will feel and look your best all the time.

  1. Take your mat and move it slowly to the side. Begin this sequence by doing the third posture (tandavasana) and gently move the mat to the opposite corner of your mat.

  6. As you do this exercise, bring the palms of your hands towards each other. Stay in this posture for 3 to 5 breaths.
  7. Raise the arms again and take the hands to the sides of your head. Now inhale and relax. Stay in this posture for 3 to 5 breaths. Slowly come back to the starting position. Repeat the posture five times.
  8. Start on your back with your knees bent and your arms resting on your thighs.
  9. Sit up straight, keeping your feet firmly on the floor. Bring your hands behind your back, with your arms straight and elbows held out, palms facing upwards.
  10. Now inhale and relax. Keep the arms slightly raised for several breaths.
  11. Bring the palms of your hands towards each other and bring them together. Stay in this posture for 3 to 5 breaths.With each inhalation and exhalation, bring the hands and arms towards your head until you can see your nose, then slowly bring the hands down to your lap. Repeat this posture five times.
  12. Lift your arms and legs slightly, keeping your hands on the floor and your feet firmly on the ground.Bring your hands behind your back, with your arms straight and elbows held out, palms facing upwards.Now inhale and relax. Stay in this posture for 3 to 5 breaths.

Is Botox risky?

Botox injections aren't dangerous to your health, but they are not advised for those with certain medical conditions, such as fragile skin or liver or kidney disease. Other risks include bruising and increased bruising, allergic reactions to botulinum toxin, or injuries to the underlying muscle or nerves.

Are there any allergic reactions to botox?

Symptoms may include:

If you have symptoms, it's essential to tell your GP immediately so the injections can be stopped, and your recovery can begin. In rare cases, there can be severe allergic reactions, where the very small amount of botox in the injected muscles can become trapped, or there may be severe swelling, redness and/or bruising. In these instances, the injection will need to be stopped immediately and treatment started with antihistamine and steroid injections. These typically take two to three days.

Are there risks with scarring?

Although botulinum toxin is only rarely absorbed into the fat tissue, if the botulinum toxin somehow does get into the body (through the skin or the stomach), it can cause significant complications.

The treatment can cause deep, painful scars, the loss of the tiny muscle bundles around the injection site, and muscle paralysis. If botulinum toxin is not completely cleared from the bloodstream in seven days, the treatment needs to be stopped and redose can only be given under medical supervision.

What should I know before getting botox?

Be aware that the treatment can be painful. A junior doctor who treated me for a broken wrist explained that "Botox does more than paralyse the muscles: it blocks signals which would normally tell the muscles to relax, and to fire when they should not." Although many people have happy results with botox injections, I've known more than one patient who was left with profound, yet vague, physical pain and/or paralysis.

But, this is not to say that botox does not work. Indeed, studies have shown that botulinum toxin significantly reduces muscle tension and loosens drooping eyelids. The technique used in my clinic is a specialised form of botox, which is injected into the muscle groups in the upper eyelid (the zygomatic major muscle), The Botox sits in the muscle (in a haematoxylin) for 12 to 24 hours. This increases the temperature of the muscle (firing it) and reduces the constriction of the muscle (leading to more open space in the muscle).

Is the effect temporary?

Yes, it usually wears off after about a week. In most cases, there is no evidence that long-term use is beneficial, although, in some cases, there may be an improvement in the muscle stiffness and drooping eyes. It can take several weeks or even months to notice the effects of botox, so it's essential that you give the treatment at least four weeks' worth of treatment time before seeing any long-term benefits.
